Villas of Wilkinson Lake History

North Oaks Company, a James J. Hill Family business, initiated the Villas of Wilkinson Lake in 2005. The intent of the development was to provide a community for mature adults that could enjoy the natural beauty of NE North Oaks, in concert with Presbyterian Home’s, Waverly Gardens. The development would share some of the amenities of Waverly Garden elder care while providing independent living in a natural setting surrounding the beauty of Wilkinson Lake. A 620-acre nature area borders Wilkinson Lake with access to its trails simply a few steps away, through several access points.  The early Home Owner Association, which manages the grounds, was run through North Oaks Company. The Home Owner Association responsibility was turned over to the homeowners in 2022.

Osprey Court development started in 2006. 12 villas were built in the preliminary stages, all on the eastern end by Kootenai and Hanson Builders.  The financial recession of 2008 slowed the development until 2011. Building resumed by Accent Homes. (Bud Dropps the builder. Jim Kuiken the architect/designer.)

Phoebe Court and Kestrel Court followed shortly after the 2011 resumption of building activity.   The remaining Osprey builds, along with Phoebe, and Kestrel builds remained steady from this time through 2022. An extension to Osprey Court was started in 2021, with 4 villas added. This brought the total number of villas to 51.
